“Anatomy of a Miracle,” written by Jess Daniels and Julie McDonald Zander in 2009, covered Centralia Christian School’s first thirty years.

Rev. Dennis Weaver of the Centralia First Christian Church had the vision for the Christian School. In the book it was stated, “Pastor Weaver said in a newspaper article that many parents were unhappy with secular humanism being taught in the public school which prompted them to enroll their children in private schools where teaching tended to reflect the convictions of the parents.”

It was truly a miracle when CCS obtained the Harland Property for the home of the school.

The school grew, even with difficult events such as flooding. In December 2007, the fourth flood happened in seventeen years. The school lost 1700 books, the gym floor had floated ten inches above the concrete. Eighteen inches had flooded the 43,000 square-foot building. Thanks to donations and FEMA dollars, the flood damage was repaired.

Principal Denny Taylor concluded in the book, “Godly character-building in our homes, coupled with and reinforced with Christ-centered training at a Christian school, is a powerful combination.”

The Cross

Colossians 1: 20-22 – “…and by Him God reconciled everything to Himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of His Blood on the cross (21) This includes you who were once so far away from God. You were His enemies, separated from Him by your evil thoughts and actions, (22) now He has brought you back as His friends. He has done this through His body on the cross in His own human body. As a result, He has brought you into the very presence of God, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before Him without a single fault.”

The World

John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save it.”

The Lightning Bolt

This stands for His Light and His Power.

John 8:12 “Jesus said to the people, I am the light of the world. If you follow Me, you won’t be stumbling through the darkness, because you will have the Light that leads to life.”

The Lion of Judah

Rev. 5:5 – One of the elders comforted John with the glad news that the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root (Creator and Forefather) was qualified to open the scroll, bleak the seals, and thus release the judgments. Jesus is qualified to be the Judge by His infinite wisdom, by divine decree, by personal excellence, and by His work at Calvary.

In Revelation, our Lord is presented both as Lamb and Lion. As the Lamb of God, he is the sacrificial One, bearing away the sins of the world. As the Lion, He is the Judge, punishing His enemies. At His First coming, He was the Lamb. At His Second Coming, He will be the Lion.
